Christmas in Downtown Salt Lake City
Christmas in Salt Lake City is a magical time, and spending the holidays downtown is even more magical. There are so many things to see and do, you will want to plan on multiple days to see them all!
Lights on Temple Square
Definitely the top tourist attraction in Salt Lake City this time of year is on Temple Square. Beginning in mid-August, the lights are carefully strung along trees, walkways and paths, with careful attention to detail as to not damage any part of the trees or plants. Stroll around Temple Square, and warm up in one of the many historic buildings on the grounds.
Carriage Rides
Perhaps the most magical way to see and experience the downtown holiday lights are aboard a horse-drawn carriage ride. Climb aboard the carriages outside the South gates of Temple Square, just along South Temple.
Downtown Holiday Windows
An old tradition dating back to the early days of Salt Lake City, the Downtown Holiday Windows displays will bring magic and excitement to every family member. Download a map of each participating business, and make sure to see them all. Go online afterward and vote for your favorite.
