Salt Lake City Lights On This Weekend

This Friday, November 25th at 4:45 p.m. gather family and friends to experience Salt Lake City’s big holiday tradition. The Downtown Alliance and Temple Square will light up the Christmas season with their annual “Lights On” event.

Temple Square and downtown SLC will be aluminated with more than a million lights. From the Gateway Mall to Temple Square and up and down Main Street to the Gallivan Center. You will find old-fashioned holiday window displays at the new 222 South Main high-rise. For those of us who recall when ZCMI would surprise us with exciting window designs each holiday season, this event seems to replicate those windows from many years ago.

One thing that has not changed from the olden-days is the crowds. Even with the construction and building going on in the town, there is no doubt that Salt Lake City crowds will be extraordinary. Consider going on week nights, car-pooling or taking TRAX to keep the night stress-free. There is plenty of park and pay lots around the city, but you may have to walk quite a ways so dress warmly.
